SERVICES

circlesofsupportAll people supported by Brackenridge will have support plans developed around their unique needs. Support plans are developed with the person, their family/whanau, friends and others who make up their circles of support.

 

Accommodation/Residential Services

Brackenridge offers a range of residential and support options from shared living though to one person support arrangements depending on individual needs.
Houses are located within the wider Christchurch community. People are supported to become involved and to participate in the running of their home and to access ordinary community services.

High Health Needs and Physical Disability

Brackenridge is a specialist provider of support for people with learning
disabilities who have high health needs and/or physical disabilities.
A key component of support is to ensure people experience everyday opportunities regardless of their disability.

Respite Services

Respite services are provided for children and young people with high health and physical support needs and for children and young people with high behavioural support needs. These services are provided on a rotating basis throughout the year however do not operate for the Christmas/New Year period (24 December to 3 January)

Behaviour Support Services

Brackenridge is a specialist provider of support for people who experience difficulty in coping with day-to-day living and recognises the communicative function that may underlie a person's behaviour.
Key to this service area is the role of specialist staff who work with the individual and those involved in their support to provide strategies that value and enhance the person's life.

Vocational Services

An expanding and exciting new service area that provides greater opportunities for people to participate in meaningful and valuing work, recreational and leisure activities.
Incorporated within this service are holiday programmes, voluntary work, work experience, paid work opportunities, supported employment and planned special events.

Communication Support & Assistive Learning

Supporting people with communication using a variety of supports from visual strategies through to technological devices provides people with the opportunity to be more involved in daily communication.
Opportunity for supported computer use extends skills and opens new worlds for people and is a popular learning and fun experience for many.
